Don't fire on something that looks like this:

That would be the frigate USS Nicholas. This morning (well, our time), the Nicholas took fire from and sank a pirate skiff, then captured its mother ship.

How to know you read too much SF: every time they use "mother ship" in this context, I see aliens.

I'm going to stop reading the comments to various news stories at CNN, because all they do is convince me that we should require passage of intelligence tests before people are allowed to connect to the internet.

Yes, I know that would violate their First Amendment rights, and I really do care about the First Amendment...even if those self-same stupid people want only their own rights to count.

*sigh* So they can have the right to write what they want...and my sensible option is just not to read it.

Stupid people. Stupid illiterate people.

The iCade, just $149.99...from Think Geek.

You know, one year Think Geek's April Fools products were so good they ended up actually *making* one of them. This year's subdermal designs tatooing product is also quite good.
