io9 offers this fascinating story about Aimee Mullins. Both of her legs were amputated when she was a year old. But she is not "dis"abled. She has super powers.

Included in the story was this TED talk by Mullins. Intriguing and utterly mind-blowing.

With thanks to my friend Mike Walsh for the link.
