Y'all need to get a sense of humor
May. 21st, 2010 08:25 amSouth Africa has refused to stop publication of a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad/Mohammed drawn as part of a Facebook group's protest against Islamic violence. Yesterday was, as
feorag wrote, "Everyone Draw Mohammed Day."
Jonathan Shapiro, known as Zapiro, drew the prophet on a psychiatrist's couch bemoaning the failure of his followers to have a sense of humor. A Muslim clerical group in South Africa protested, demanding that the Mail and Guardian not print the cartoon because they found it offensive.
I particularly liked the quote from the editor of the SA Mail and Guardian: "No cartoon is as insulting to Islam as the assumption Muslims will react with violence."
