The Akhal-Teke is a stunning breed of horse, with pleasant carriage and an amazing metallic coat. The only down-side is they don't have much in the way of a mane.

This one is outrageously lovely...from St. Petersberg:

For my sister Su...who has to know that if I had the money, I'd get her one of these (and its own groom) for her birthday. :-)

This witty blog post is so very, very meta...using a blog on the internet to take to task an historian who uses a blog on the internet to bellyache that there just aren't any great diarists for the historians of the future to use in their historiographies of our time.
Sorry about that, historians of the 22nd century. I am sorry that I made so many blog posts featuring someone else's YouTube video. Sorry that so many of my Facebook updates are vacuous. Sorry that my tweets bring down the tenor of the entire medium. Sorry about all of my files undescriptively labeled DSCimage987234534.jpg and GrantProposal2,docx. Sorry for the mess.
But see, as ever, the historians of the future will earn their dissertations (so that they might compete for one of seven teaching slots in history) by sorting through the detritus of daily artifacts, verbal and otherwise.

At least, that's what I learned in my hysteriography (not how it's really spelled...just how it felt) course. (And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why my Ph.D.'s so not in history.)
