I preferred the forecast two days ago, saying no snow in our future, to the one posted at the National Weather Service this morning:
Tonight: Rain and snow before 1am, then snow and sleet between 1am and 2am, then snow after 2am. Low around 29. East wind between 10 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

M.L.King Day: Snow, mainly before 1pm. High near 33. North wind between 10 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Charming. Then again, it looks like it will hold off long enough for us to have dinner with our friends [livejournal.com profile] jcbemis and [livejournal.com profile] fla_sunshine (who told me last night they were freezing...but who often manage to bring snow up from Florida when they visit) and get home to batten down the hatches.

Eight to 14, huh? *sigh* And I was almost able to see the deck again...

I'm pretty sure I preferred the accumulated snow we had here in Columbus to the soggy weather (rain today) we have now. It was easier walking in the snow than it is in the mud. But the long-range forecast shows the snow not returning until next Saturday, just in time for my flight back west.

Yes, of course. :-) The real snow's not supposed to start until after midnight, so we should have plenty of time.
