I am a CSIaholic
Aug. 19th, 2005 09:45 pmNow, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. In fact, if it weren't for a hypersensitive sense of smell (which connects to a hypersensitive barf-trigger...yes, I'm sure there's a technical name for this, but I'm not that kind of doctor, thankyouverymuch), I could really get into forensic science.
Instead, I studied forensic rhetoric. But that's a story for another blog.
Anyway...the ultimate in "cold cases" may be on the cusp of solution, at least if you give credence to the New York Post. Okay, which I don't. But there's a possibility that this letter discovered by a woman might be legit...and it might offer some anecdotal (and, incidentally, hearsay) evidence that Judge Joseph Crater (his name gets mentioned a lot with Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa) was actually murdered and buried near New York's Coney Island boardwalk.
Word from the letter and modern sources is that the body would be somewhere under (or excavated to make way for) the current New York Aquarium.
There is no indication that the Aquarium will be renamed Crater Lake any time soon.
