Canadian researchers used mathematical disease mapping techniques to look at the odds of complete annihilation of humans if the zombies attack.

The result? Isn't pretty.
To give the living a fighting chance, the researchers chose "classic" slow-moving zombies as our opponents rather than the nimble, intelligent creatures portrayed in some recent films.

"While we are trying to be as broad as possible in modelling zombies - especially as there are many variables - we have decided not to consider these individuals," the researchers said.
Even so, their models showed a collapse of civilization unless the zombie hordes are dealt with swiftly and aggressively.

(Yeah, yeah...I understand that they're developing models to map the spread of other infectious diseases. But still...)

According to the Boston Globe, we tied the record for this day at 95°F. Here's how the seals at the New England Aquarium cooled down:

If I'd been sans AC, I would have told Ursula the seal to move over.
