Several years ago, my sister Su gave us a wireless weather station for Christmas. When we got home from Ohio, we unloaded all of the booty and put the weather station on the dryer so that we could install the sensor on the back deck.

But it kept snowing.

And it was cold.

Later, it thawed and rained.

Then it was too hot.

Besides, did we really need a wireless weather station? We have an old thermometer on the deck...and if we wanted to know if it was raining, we'd look to see if the deck was wet. If it was white, then it was snowing. If a squirrel shot off the deck like it had been fired out of a cannon, the deck was iced over.

Etc.

So, yesterday I began to doubt the old-fashioned thermometer hanging outside of the kitchen window, and thought, "What the heck? It's not snowing, raining, *or* icy out there."

I'm reliably told by *both* thermometers that it is 95°F. That is 35°C. And 308Farking°K.

Because of the spiffy wireless weather center my sister got us, however, I also know that the humidity is only 32%. Which is a good thing, because it means possible survival from brief exterior ecxursions.

Hope you're cool where you are.
