Home, now. Flight landed on time (at 1:30 p.m. local). Cab driver didn't know where he was going (which pissed me off, because I did). Got my car. Then the kindly parking faeries found the space immediately in front of my building's door for me. Get to teach in an hour and fifteen minutes. Tired.

---

So many friends to see. Hugged many. May be getting crud...or the semi-laryngitis is just from bad hotel air.

---

London won. Hehehe. We now 'fess up that we will be called Loncon 3. Only those who ignore history will be shocked. First London Worldcon in 49 years. Great guests, too.

For the next two years, I get to say, "No, can't do dinner. Have to go to London for the weekend. Sorry!" and not be sorry at all.

Love the folks on the committee. Brilliant senses of humor. Pity some may eventually be beaten about the head and neck. Inevitable, really.

Sold many memberships.

---

Bought no art. Saw art show for 15 minutes. Sadly, underwhelmed.

Did almost no shopping, actually. Just picked up jewelry commissioned at Reno. Dealers room was an obstacle to be gotten through on way to London tables. How the mighty shoppers have fallen.

---

My favorite party ended up being a bore. Too many people who shouldn't have been in attendance (possibly as a result of too many tickets being issued...possibly because no one appeared in charge, and so no one was taking invitations at the door).

Stayed 15 minutes, marveled at the rudeness of a small handful occupying 1/4 of the room with a pool game (who gave me a filthy look when I tried to get by).

We need to go back to this being our party for us, and not the "cool kids' dead dog party." I liked 'em sedate, quiet, filled with good conversation.

---

So many wonderful restaurants in Chicago, and I ate in only two outside of the hotel. (Ate at one twice; good Armenian food.) Did get to hear the stories of excellent meals of others, however.

Thank heaven for the hotel's kiosk that sold fresh fruit, pastries, ice cream, hummus, crunchies, and coffee. Lived off of that for several days.

---

Worldcon seemed to go well for the average attendee (from what I could tell). That's good enough, say those of us who make the sausage.

---

Wonder if I can get a tranquilizer dart gun? Some psychodramas were begging for it this year.

---

Got to hug Renee and tell him I know he was screwed. Got to hug several and say, "Hey, cool statue you've got there."

---

Kissed Mike goodbye in Chicago yesterday, when he headed for a plane. Won't get to kiss him hello at home until tomorrow. Kinda bummed.

---

Best pain in the world: cheek muscles killing me from grinning so much. Loved, particularly, chatting with the newbies. It's all magic for them! That rocks.

---

Dave gave me a medal...still not clear on why, but he tried to do it a second time, so he must have meant it. Heh. I'm nobody's hero.

---

Doofiest comment overheard at Worldcon: "The cab driver thought my tail was strange. I just don't understand that."

---

Yngvi is not a louse, but WSFS still thinks he is. (On the other hand, there was much laughter, and people enjoyed the gag, so we won.)
