A Twin Cities television meteorologist loves this time of year...when the mercury dips into the double digits below zero (F), and many food products become household tools. Not everything works, however.

In fact, Mr. Yuhas and his faithful assistant Tim McNiff attempted to hammer nails with lots of frozen stuff. Successful attempts were also made with a frozen peanut butter and honey sandwich, an egg, and a frozen-solid cup of coffee.

Pounding nails with a Twinkie, however, was unsuccessful. No lab work was available to suggest why the creme filled cylinder did not freeze, but that fact that it didn't should make one question whether eating them is a good idea.
