...wasn't in class the first day of the semester. She sent email saying that she would not attend, and I thoroughly concurred with her decision. I hope this weekend gives her some measure of peace (although it is perhaps more likely to re-open old wounds).

She is the daughter of a 9/11 victim. She was probably 10 or 11 when her parent died.

My prayers go out to her and to the other loved ones of people in the planes, the Towers, the Pentagon, and those who stood in harm's way as first responders.

So sad. Do hope she is getting lots of support from family and friends.
The coverage has been non-stop. I've had to turn it off several times, and I was just a bystander a whole continent away.
Prayers to everyone who was actually touched by the tragedy.
