benveniste got me one of these yesterday, as an anniversary (20 years this coming Thursday! yay us!) and birthday (let's not discuss that bump last month) gift.

One of the major reasons to get the iPad was for reading books. Thanks to
ckd, I've been using
ManyBooks.net for several years to download free books for the Touch. I've also gone to Project Gutenberg for free books.
But can y'all recommend the best places to actually *buy* books? Where do you prefer to shop for eBooks? Thanks!

(I'm presuming that Boston still has independent local bookstores. I'd think if any city in the US would have survivors of that endangered species, it would be Boston)
