If you are a fan of Donald Trump, I am not the person whose work you want to read.

You will be much happier if you take me out of your reading list entirely, and you will be particularly happy if you don't read any further today.

The group styling themselves "The Lincoln Project" are self-identified Republicans who want to bring their party back to the kinds of Republicans who Abraham Lincoln might have recognized. They abhor Trump, as do most people who are intelligent, well-read, and people with moral convictions that might be recognized by hundreds of years of Americans struggling to actually be people of principle.

In particular, The Lincoln Project is doing some very, very, very nice (for occasionally sardonic values of "nice") short video ads on YouTube and Twitter (and other things, of course). Most of the ads don't actually mention Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, but they certainly mention his opponent - the man who embodies many of the very worst traits of the current Republican Party. And some of their ads speak to other current political issues and, occasionally, to Biden and other Democrats.

So...here are three of my current favorite ads from The Lincoln Project. Nice work. Not all anti-Trump, of course. The first one is a loving tribute to a pretty damned amazing woman.

Notorious RBG. The first woman to lie in state in the U.S. Capital building.

Some of The Lincoln Project ads are, granted, attack ads. The Project, after all, targets him and others of his...ilk who make the Republican Party something that would have horrified Lincoln.

And some of their ads? Focus on how Joe Biden is everything his opponent is not - and, in particular, how he is a decent, caring human being. Is Biden perfect? Hell, no. Had he made mistakes in his political career? Yup.

Would I prefer him and Kamala Harris to be leading this country for the next four years? Yeah. We might all survive this crap.

(And just imagining that Trump might be the "leader" the first extraterrestrial people might meet horrifies me. “If aliens ever land on earth and demand to see our leader, our best chance for survival is to bring them Lady Gaga.”)

Looks like I'll still be reading your journal, then! :)

I must admit that I was relieved, when I called my father after he was able to go back to his home, to confirm that he hates Trump as much as I do. Mind you, as a career US Forest Service officer, I'm sure he has been appalled at Dear Glorious Leader's ignorance of how forest management works as anything else, with the difference being in this case that Dad has an entire lifetime working in the field. And Dear Leader's criticism of forest management? Note that the US Forest Service is apart of the United States Department of Agriculture, so when Trump complains about the Forest Service, he's saying that his own government is failing at the job. But we knew that already.

I hope their ads are having an impact.

I'm not a fan of either Biden or Trump, but when it comes down to those two, it has to be the one who doesn't reject the voting process.

My current plan is to vote for Jorgensen, but that depends on how tight the polls in New Hampshire look. Trump's one hope is that the rioting gets bad enough that people feel they have to vote for a tough guy.
