The bane of Massachusetts
Jan. 3rd, 2008 07:53 pmEvery time a presidential primary ad comes on, we hit "mute" on the remote. We're tired of hearing them. Now, with the last-minute push toward the New Hampshire primary, they will not shut up.
Even if I didn't already loathe Mitt Romney as our former governor, I'd still loathe him for his idiotic attack ads.
Still, watching the New Hamster spill-over ads is the only way we'll see any Republican primary ads...and almost nobody runs actual presidential race ads here. Massachusetts' presidential primary is February 5, like 8,000 others. After that, it's likely to be all over but the shouting.
In the meantime, we have a pretty strong antipathy to all of them. We're tired of a year and more of foreplay. (Besides, I've known for a year who I plan to give the primary nod...)

on 2008-01-04 05:56 am (UTC)I have to rely on my folks in MA to vote for a sane candidate. I don't get to vote till 4/22 (PA), when my choice will be "Candidate A or Candidate A?"
But I hasten to reassure you my parents and I will NOT be casting ballots for the Mittster...

on 2008-01-04 05:54 pm (UTC)Hillary Clinton. I don't agree with everything she says; some of her stands annoy me. But I believe the single most important thing she will bring to the presidency is a willingness to walk across the aisle.
We need a president for the whole country, not just one for the Democrats or the Republicans. We need a president who recognizes that other sides have valid points, and who will not make a simple disagreement into a cause for rejection, hatred, and ridicule.
I believe she can help to heal our increasingly polarized nation.

on 2008-01-09 07:19 am (UTC)Even the shouting will be mostly over by the time the Oregon primary rolls around... in May. Late May.
This whole system is so bleeping broken it's ridiculous. The states with the lowest number of delegates should go first. The biggies -- New York and California -- should go last. That way no state's results would be meaningless.
Yeah, like that's gonna happen in our lifetime.
