I never knew there were different types of lemons. Well, check that. I never knew there were more differences than "with seeds" and "with a wicked lot of seeds." Until some of the cooking shows started talking about them, Meyer lemons were not on my radar.

But the L.A. Times offers recipes specific to the Meyer lemon (which is apparently in season right now): 100 Things to Do with a Meyer Lemon.

Wonder if I can find them anywhere 'round here? Probably Whole Foods.

Hmmmm. Lemon curd...

I've been seeing mentions of them in food magazines for some time, but Whole Foods only started getting them in last year. I haven't tried any of those recipes yet, though.

Read this with bemusement: the LA Times was offering lots of recipes because Meyer lemons are very prolific. People at my synagogue and at work when I was in the Bay Area usually had way more than they could use themselves and were always trying to give them away. Sometimes we'd come into our break room and find a little paper bag of them saying "Take one."
